*DbD* Gaming currently offers 9 public game servers for 3 FPS games as well as 3 Public Teamspeak servers. Are game servers for games like CoD and Cod2 have player statistics that are generated daily as well as the option to view the live status of ALL of our servers via our web site. Most of this is brought to you through the rental of a rack mount server located in VA USA and quite a bit of elbow grease on my part. All of this is a great deal of work and I am happy to do it asking for nothing in return for myself. The ONLY thing that I ask is if you use our Game Servers or Teamspeak Servers, just send in a small donation to help cover costs. Without user donations none of this would exist. [glow=red,2,300]Help out! Donate Today!!!![/glow] Donations Can be made through PayPal by clicking on the link at the bottom of our home page! www.dbdgaming.com

Just to let you know, as of today there has only been $20 donated, a far cry from the $200 that it costs monthly to keep everything running. Bills are due on the 8th of every month and if they are not covered, you may want to bookmark this forum because it will be the only thing left......It is the ONLY thing we do not pay for....

As of this date, donations have only reached $45 USD with a $15 USD carryover from last months bills which leaves us $140 USD short with only 10 days to go. It would appear that the goal will not be met and the servers and website will be going down. If this is the case, all donations made after March 8th will be promptly returned via PayPal. Donations are still going to be accepted until April 7th, one day before the due date for our April bills in hopes that enough will be raised to let the servers squeak by another month. If not as stated before, all donations WILL BE REFUNDED that were made AFTER MARCH 8th 2006.
It is very sad to have to make posts like this but after successfully providing gamers with [glow=red,2,300]KICK-A$$ Games Servers Since 2002[/glow] I think that *DbD* has made a pretty good run at it and that is something to be proud of!!!!!
What caused this you might ask? Well, a combination of many things: My refusal to make *DbD* Gaming members pay mandatory dues as suggested in the past by several members. The lack of recruitment for members that play the other games we host (CoD and CoD2). Closed mindedness and arrogance. The long and drawn out death of Spearhead. ...and my personal favorite...the free-loaders..
Do not count DbD Gaming out though, this has been something that has been foreseen nearly as long as we have been....

Well Bear im sorry to say it but im not doing it again. I've payed the difference to keep the servers alive once before and i cant afford to do it again. I'm saving up for a wedding ans a house and im not going to carry the free loaders anymore.
I am very sorry i cannot afford to pay to keep the servers alive again but this might be what they are needing.

You have carried this club through MANY times that I was unable to get it through, and I am gratefull for that. There have been other members that have done the same like Murder Inc. and Jacktheripper and the list goes on. There has ALWAYS been someone to pick up the ball and carry on when things got impossible for the others and we were blessed for that.....and now that security, that comradery is gone. ... I know the feeling of putting up ALL OF the money for the servers, it is something I grew accustomed to in the summer months when people were happy to be outside working around their home or on holiday and had no time to play games, but my line of work keeps me well to do in the warmer months and slow in the colder months. It always worked out. But now.............................................

Sorry for getting my donation out so late, I will be sending to you, Bear, on 3/31. I cant keep tossing in $100 each month, my car sucks and I really could use a new one. That $100 bucks will make a big difference to me. Its really too bad that no one else will put in their share, but it may be time for me to move on & out.
Sorry Bud

Sorry Bud No problem there, I know exactly how you feel and I am sick and tired of seeing only a few donate that carry the rest. I have not worked in a few months...no unemployment benefits and I still kick in $20 bucks a month. I definitely want to do something about this, and I will. I have been talking it over with Brains and Master and I think we may have a pretty good solution. This plan would make monthly donations small and easy to make. Of course it will create more work for me, as if I needed anymore (the server stats are a driving me NUTZ) I will write more on this later after I work out all the details. On the brighter side, I just got word last night that I am going on a large job very soon at a college and that the work scheduled for this year is insane! I just have to hold out a lil while longer but even that being the case, I will not mind paying extra if we no longer have too many members, I just do not want to pay extra when we list over 80 members......EVER AGAIN!!!!

Bear, in that case, I guess I will wait for your plan. I was ready to resign at the end of the month. If you have a way to beat the donation problem then I will stand behind you on it. I'm going to the post office today at lunch to send out my donation for April. I really hope this works out.

Well, first of all, thanks you very much for the donation it is greatly appreciated! Secondly, we are revamping our entire gaming club very soon and you should sign up. I currently getting everything set up. Most of the guys/gals are pretty spread out. We have several that play Spearhead every night from about 7PM EST to whenever. We have a daytime CoD and Cod2 crowd that plays pretty much plays all day, then we have the CoD and CoD2 night owls that play until about 8AM EST. Probably the best way to get gaming with the boys is to get on Teamspeak and use X-Fire. I am adding an X-Fire handle thread to help this along.
